The Beach Boys record company was getting impatient - they wanted hit records. Brian wanted a masterpiece. His mother had always told him "dogs bark at some people and not at others because some people have good vibrations and some people have bad vibrations." Brian was obsessed with the idea and the song.
Carl Wilson sang the lead on this classic of classic. "Good Vibrations" did, indeed, turn out to be the Beach Boys masterpiece.
