Dream come true
One of the biggest rock songs of all time came to him in a dream. Who is he?
The group was on tour. Clearwater, Florida. In the middle of the night, he had a dream. A riff kept going through his mind and he'd been here before just like we all have: "I'll remember it and write it down in the morning. How could I forget this?"
Well, this guy had been there before so he got out a cheap cassette recorder and hummed the melody.
The next day he shared the riff with the other guys. They were completely impressed and started working on lyrics.
Within a week, the song was written. The session was set for Memphis. Once they got into the studio, the lead singer for the group said "the sound isn't right" and insisted they record the song in LA.
On the jet to LA, they kept the song alive on the plane. They really got into this song.
However, at the studio, the writer and lead singer got into a different kind of riff in determining how the song was going to sound. The writer had thought of the song as an album filler. Not a hit.
The lead singer thought otherwise. He thought it was gonna be huge!
Who had the dream, came up with the melody and compromised to the lead singer to make it electic guitar instead of acoustic?
A) Jimi Hendrix -"All Along the Watchtower"
B) John Fogerty - "Centerfield"
C) John Lennon - "Get Back"
D) Keith Richards - "Satisfaction."
