Keith Richards
Keith didn't hear it as a major hit. Mick did.
The one song that eternalized the Rolling Stones was "(Can't Get No) Satisfaction." The riff or the melody that opens the song was the dream Keith Richards has on that night back in Clearwater, Florida. He took the time to get it on tape!
With help from Mick Jagger who insisted it was not an album filler but had huge potential. It won a Grammy that year and was voted Song of the Year.
Mick insisted in the fuzz tone guitar open and riff throughout the song. Keith didn't hear it as a big hit. Just filler.
The original song was heard on AM radio and in mono. Most songs came in mono on singles at that time. Stations are given the difficult task of whether to broadcast the song in mono or stereo. The stereo version in HQ almost makes the song sound softer. Alomost acoustic. This is one of those songs that sounds better in mono.
Keith was responsible for the Rolling Stones' follow up that also hit number one. Name that song:
A) "Wild Horses
B) "Get off My Cloud"
C) "Under My Thumb"
D) "Start Me Up"
